Eric and Josephine had fun carving our pumpkin. I enjoyed eating the roasted pumpkin seeds.

Two recent hand-me-downs from Katie
On Saturday Josephine got a package with this cute little leotard that cousin Katie wore for her first ballet experience. She immediatey wanted to put it on.
Sunday morning she woke up and saw the outfit hanging on her closet door and again wanted to wear it. After doing her back kick-ups (you can barely see her left foot in the air) she needed to hydrate.
We went to the Stanford women's soccer game Sunday afternoon and Josie fell asleep in the car on the way home and transitioned to her bed for a two hour nap. Up and ready to go to 5:30 church after a banana snack. (Another cute hand-me-down from Katie - Thanks Katie!)

Fancy-free Friday 10/21
We sure do love Fridays. We drove to Half Moon Bay to Farmer John's pumpkin patch. It was a little overcast when we arrived but quite sunny by the time we left. Josie had fun running up and down the paths along the pumpkins. She wanted to lift many of them but they were "too heavy". She looked for her pumpkin hat this morning and wanted to wear it all morning. I finally took it off when we went to the beach.

Goofy girl on the way to the pumpkin patch. I had to stop in the middle of the road to take this picture.
Josie loved climbing on the tractor. We left to climb on hay stacks and came back to the tractor and she said "Josie's home". Must have some of Papa Andy's blood. Guess we need a trip back to the orchards to ride on the tractor with Papa Andy.

She wanted to take lots of pumpkins home. We settled on the big one in the back for carving since we have a few tiny ones at home already.
Next stop we went to my favorite beach by the Ritz Carlton and ate our lunch and played in the waves and sand and read books together. Josie was a little scared of the water. We walked in and it was cold and the waves came rushing up. I picked her up and we played along the shore running away from the waves and she was laughing pretty hard but was scared when I put her down. A few times she choose to play under her stroller. Maybe for the shade or maybe as a protection from the waves. It was a gorgeous day.
just to prove mommy was there too.

San Carlos Art & Wine Faire Oct 8-9
Late Saturday afternoon Josie and I wandered over to the faire and found the Kid Zone. There was some very loud kid music from a duo. Once they finished they were letting the kids play with their "toys".
We then headed over to our favorite book store the Reading Bug. We read some books and Josie played.

Since Josie had a pretty runny nose she couldn't go to "Sunday School" and since we had so much fun in the Kid Zone the day before we headed back to the faire just as it opened. No crowds, no loud music and the chance to see things we didn't see the day before.

In the Kid Zone they had a little obstacle course put on by "My Gym" and at the end there was a mat for a somersault. Josie did her first one with some help. Once she got home she kept trying them and wanting mommy and daddy to take a turn. We are definitely too old for somersaults.
Caleb turns 12
We celebrated Caleb's birthday on Oct 9. What a fine young man he has grown into and Josie sure adores him. We missed Rach at the family dinner but got to see her on skype.
