Saturday 9/22

On Saturday Josie and I went on some errands downtown San Carlos. We relaxed at home and got a late start but our aim was to make it to 11:00 story time at the Reading Bug. She got to watch a cartoon so I could do her hair. She's in a tv fog.

Little miss seamstress putting on chapstick.

Josie volunteered during story time to hold the pictures for Down By the Bay.

After story time we sat outside at their miniature table and ate a pbj sandwich. We then went to the thrift store for a few minutes and then to a new resale store. Both proved unsuccessful. Last stop Trader Joe's and that was successful. Home for nap time - unsuccessful. Made a big pot of soup for dinner - successful.

Bill & Eric bday celebration

Last Monday night Uncle Bill & Aunt Gaylynne met us for dinner to celebrate Bill & Eric's birthdays. We at the Little Store in Woodside. Monday nights the Banjo guys play. Such fun music. We had a great evening. (I have a great video of Josie dancing but it won't upload). It finally works!

Spider girl

Last Sunday Josie and I went back to the little park where we met my work friends. We spent all our time on the "spider web". We sat at the top and told stories. I had a really cute video but for some reason it won't upload. :-( Yeah, it finally uploaded!

I figured out how to shorten this on iMovie b/c it was 1:30 and now edited down to two clips of 30 sec.

SF Giant's Half Marathon

The race started in front of the Giant's stadium and the finish line was in the ballpark. There were 13,000 runners doing the 1/2, 10k, and 5k. There may be a post race picture coming.

Friday Fun 9/14

Josie and I took the train to SF. I had to pick up my race packet for the SF Giants 1/2 marathon. It was a beautiful day in the City.

Josie had fun in the expo where I picked up race numbers for me and my two friends.

Josie got a special treat that they were handing out at the expo. Mom was smart enough to take off her Giant's jersey and put on her jacket. She didn't eat the whole thing but sure enjoyed what she did eat.

Friday night I went back to SF with Eric, Dave & Tia, and Blake to a Mercy Me concert in combination with Francis Chan and his daughter Rachel. Fun concert and fun going out to dinner and hanging out with our friends. The concert was in the famous Warfield theatre in the Tenderloin.

Ragamuffin

My little ragamuffin had a fit when I said it was time to leave the thrift store. Can you blame her?

Sunday birthdays

After church we scooted over to a new gymnastics place on Laurel St. in San Carlos for Sam's 4th birthday. Sam goes to Josie's daycare. What a fun place. All the kids loved jumping into the foam pit, including Josie. They tried doing a few other activities but the kids kept going back to the foam pit. It looks a little scary but Josie loved it.

We celebrated Evan's 18th birthday Sunday after naps. Cousins pictured below Josie & Abby; Peter, Cathy, Eric & Stephen; the two grandmas Jean & Virginia; Evan doing homework; Peter, Stephen, & Kurt; Amy & Janet; Abby & Josie.

Friday Fun 9/7

Josie and Kaira, the little whipper snappers, had fun playing at Kaira's for a little over an hour before lunch although they did have a snack together. Kaira proudly served Josie some Alphabet cereal all on her own. Mom had a little fun with editing.

After a nap we went to My Gym and Josie and Kaira got to play again.

After My Gym we went to Aunt Gaylynne's to help feed the chickens

Lilly Morgan Colon

Congratulations to Kensey and Steven on the birth of little Lilly. She was born this evening a couple weeks early. She weighed 5lbs 10oz and is 18 in. What a little peanut. I started babysitting for Kensey when she was 6 months old and I was 12 years old. She and her younger sister Karah are my goddaughters. Way to go Kensey and Steven! Can't wait to visit them in Chicago.

Cousin Sophia part 2

Cousin Lori and Sophia were back in town after being in Hawaii visiting Lori's mom for two months. They were back for two weeks staying with Uncle Bill and Aunt Gaylynne. We saw them on June 24 and the girls had fun playing together. We got together 3 times so they girls could have more time together.

We met up at Stafford Park for a picnic dinner on Wednesday night and the girls ran through the sprinkler and played in the park.

Friday Sophia and Gaylynne came to play at our house. It was a very chilly day with no sun.

They left to run errands and Josie napped and then we met up again at My Gym
Saturday we celebrated Sophia's 4th birthday at Gaylynne and Bill's. Gaylynne bought matching outfits for Sophia and Josie. A special guest was there to entertain the kids.

After telling stories, playing a game, singing a song, it was time for Tinker Bell to paint faces and arms. Cousin Paige and Josie showing off their arms.

We'll miss you Lori and Sophia as you go back home to Spain.

Friday Fun 8/31

Friday fun started with a cold day that even had some sprinklers. We headed up to the PCC Community Center thinking I would take a yoga class and run on the treadmill while Josie was in childcare and then Gaylynne and Sophia would meet us at the baby pool. Well we were off to a slow start and enjoyed not rushing out the door. We made it to PCC and Josie went to play and I ran, lifted weights and showered all within an hour. The sun didn't come out so Gaylynne and Sophia came to our house to play. That's on the next post. Then nap time and to our favorite Friday afternoon activity: free play at My Gym. Sophia came too but towards the end of class so these pics are just of Josie and the next post has pics with Sophia.

2 years 7 months

Josie is now closer to 3 years old than she is 2. That's strange to think about b/c it doesn't seem that long ago that she was an infant. Time goes by so fast and she's getting so big. I finally measured her and she's 35 inches tall and 27 lbs.

A few of our recent favorite books

Josie wore curlers to bed for the first time. She didn't really want to b/c she said they were too bumpy but I said mommy would wear them too. Way too much curl for both of us but with pony tails Josie looked cute.

Her hair is getting so long.

She's getting more brave and skilled at My Gym. We only get to go to free play. Hopefully we'll get to a real class soon where they have instruction and organized activities.

Recent play date with some of my friends from work. Enjoying a snack with Peyton.

Hanging out with the bigger boys Aidan and Noah.

She doesn't get enough practice on her bike.

Neighborhood activities

On August 10th we met our neighbors at Burton Park for the Friday night concert. It was Steely Dan music and it was really fun. We don't usually go to those b/c it's so loud and crowded but this week it wasn't crowded or too loud and we had fun with our neighbors. Satoshi and Shuli and Shuli's dad Tony; Justin, Brigit & Kaira and their friends (family of 4) staying in their guest house. We ate at picnic tables, the kids played in the park for a bit and then we went up front to dance. I didn't know Shuli was such a good dancer.

The next weekend Shuli's dad cooked us an authentic Taiwanese meal. He cooked all the things that are served on special holidays. There was a lot of food and it was delicious. Josie was eating it too.

The next night they came to our house for a typical American dinner - pizza. Although this was homemade pizza. Shuli wanted to experience making it this time since she watched Eric the last time so together they made the tomato basil one. In the oven was the spicy sausage with jalapenos and pineapple. I combination we tried and loved when we were in Colorado. While the chefs were busy Josie grabbed the hands of Satoshi and Tony and brought them in to her room to help her organize her beads.

Wed. Aug 22 Andy Z had a concert at the Redwood Shores Library. We parked at the library and then headed out on the trail along the bay. Eric & Josie on the bike and I ran. We got back to the library for a fun concert. Brigit, Justin & Kaira were there too.

On Friday we went hiking with Brigit & Kaira on the Eaton trail. First time Kaira's been hiking and come to find out she loves to hike and she is a speedy hiker. At one point Josie sat down to play in the dirt with some rocks under a tree while Brigit followed after Kaira. Next to Stafford Park to run in the sprinklers (they turned out 10 min. after we got there) and to eat lunch and play in the park. Home for naps and then we met up again at My Gym. It's cute to watch them play together.
