Feb 2nd Birthday Breakfast in Bed

Growing up my family tradition was to bring breakfast and sing happy birthday to everyone on their birthday. Eric and I have continued the tradition. This was Josie's 2nd time to have breakfast in bed. She's been talking about it for awhile. Her menu choice was Swedish pancakes with lingonberries and strawberries and bananas on the side. It was nice that we actually got to sing her awake.

Presents wrapped in cousin Amy's roll of art paper that she made for us. She suggested using it for wrapping paper and I thought it was a perfect idea.
She opened up a new graphic novel called Monster on the Hill; a learning book; a few packs of colored paper; a new dress and jean jacket and swim suit from the thrift store.

Family Birthday dinner

Shirley & Rich and John, Jody, & Matt, and Uncle Bill came over for dinner to celebrate Josie's birthday. Josie made table decorations and name cards. Since she was with Shirley during the day we put a few more decorations and Eric put together her bed. We had a bed spread hand-me-down from Lauren R. We knew Josie would be so surprised to see her new bed.
I put out her first year photo book and blankets made by Aunt Gaylyne and Aunt Mil.

Josie picked out her fancy Safeway cake with tiger print candles.
Cousin Rocket even got a lick of the cake (before we could catch him)

Josie's 5th Birthday Party

Josie had her birthday party on Saturday Feb 1st. She requested a girls-only party except grown up boys were ok. There were 10 girls including Josie. She wanted a jumpy (and picked Barbie!?). All month she has been planning for and talking about her birthday. It's been fun to buy party supplies and talk about her friends coming. She made a note for the front door announcing her party. She also made a unicorn to represent the craft table. Her theme was unicorns and ponies. The party was in Shirley and Rich's beautiful backyard. Shirley found a body painter to come and that was the highlight. Josie had a great day with all her friends.

5 years old!

 Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Josie is now 5 yrs old! This post will be a review of the last month and the birthday post(s) will be coming.

Besides party planning Josie was her usual busy self. Since she's not home a lot, when she is she loves to be home and play (especially with Daddy). Although, she does love to go play at other homes as well. Recently I picked her up from Anai's and on the way home she said, "If you and dad die can I live with Anai's family?" She loves Anai's play room.

Kinky hair after a night of braids. Getting ready to go into Sunday School.
Showing Papa she wanted to wear her Cubs jacket to school.
Nice views at Crestview Park. Found a tree to climb and a nice sunset.
Hiking on Eaton Trail in San Carlos. Found another tree to climb.

Josie's has fun climbing the motor bike hills.
She still likes to pick out outfits and get them ready for the week.
A couple more outfits. She's digging the scarf that Gaya made her for C'mas/Bday.
 Artist with attitude.

We met Brigit and Karia at the San Carlos Children to see Peter Pan. Bella and Emma came along with Grandma Sharon who I work with.
Josie and Bella wanted pics with their favorite characters.
Winter pj's passed down from Adrianna.
Shirley and Rich gave Josie this Teepee for C'mas. For about a week she wanted to sleep inside. Snowshoe kept watch over her.
We listened to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on CD. Great book. When Biz was in town we borrowed the original movie from the library. I haven't seen that movie in probably 35 year. We also borrowed the music. Josie likes the Oompa Loompas.
Josie saying goodbye to Mila since we're trying out the afternoon gymnastics instead of the 10:00 class.
Cousin Amy came over for dinner on Friday night. She brought us an artistic gift for donating to her Kick Starter fund for her trip to Germany to study art.

We've been waiting for Baby Angelina and here she is.
