Bizet's Visit

Biz flew in from Portland on a Friday afternoon and spent MLK weekend with us. We haven't seen her since she came for the same weekend 2yrs ago. We've been friends for 45years (maybe longer but nursery school is as far back as our memory goes). On Saturday she and I drove into SF and parked at 5th and Mission. We then proceeded to walk for the next 5-6 hrs. with a lunch break in China Town. What gorgeous weather. We had and so much fun wandering around.

Walking up and down the hills toward China Town.
We found a great spot, filled with only Chinese people, for some yummy noodles.
We wandered through North Beach and found ourselves so close to Coit Tower so walked up to the base. We didn't walk up to the top. We just enjoyed the views from where we were, one side Bay Bridge and the other side Golden Gate. It was a little hazy on the GG side.

View of Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building. Below is GG Bridge.
We were looking online for some famous SF staircases and we some right at Coit Tower. Since we were at the right end, the top, we walked down. This narrow wooden stair case was surrounded on both sides by funky gardens and doors leading to eclectic homes. Such a treasure to wander down.

Biz, the Cat Whisperer.
 Loved the foliage.
At the bottom of the stairs we were practically at the Embarcadero so we walked over to the Ferry Building. That was jam-packed with people. We wanted to sit and have a little snack but too crowded so went to Starbucks for some Chai Tea and to rest. Then walked back to the car. Whew, good job legs!

Sunday Biz had a meeting all morning at Stanford. Josie and I picked her and went to the park. It was so warm and sunny. Biz was showing Josie how to do a tripod as the first steps in a head stand.
Reading before bed.
The funny thing is that while we were together in San Carlos my parents were visiting Biz's parents in Portland. Friends for almost 50 years!
