Brigit and I took the girls to Fairyland in Oakland. Josie had fun with Katie and was excited to bring Kaira. They had fun going on a few rides and exploring together.

Saturdays in March

March 2nd
We ate our lunch outside at the library cafe.
Josie loves playing on the computers.
We went to a playground in San Carlos we haven't been to in probably a year.

We put together a spontaneous shared dinner at Dave and Tia's. Josie had so much fun dressing up and playing with Emerson who is a year older.

March 9
We went to the library and Josie played on the computer and we ate our lunch outside at the Cafe again. Then we brought our books to a "park" (no playground) and read our books and played around and climbed trees. We went to Tia and Dave's again and Josie and Emerson played while Tia and I watched a chick flick. The guys went out for dinner and the two older kids had a sleep over. Josie and Emi play so well together.

March 16
We went to Isabella's birthday party at the Reading Bug bookstore in San Carlos. The theme was Cars.
Birthday Girl. Isabella's grandma and I work together. We've been to a few parties for Bella.
Peyton's mom and I work together.

Friday Fun 3/8

I haven't been posting our Friday Fun pictures for awhile so here is last Friday.
Daddy put Josie to bed on Thursday night b/c I was out and she picked her PJs and wanted Gram's nightie on top (50+ year old honeymoon nightie). This is what she was wearing when I saw her the next morning. Quite the fashion statement.

We got to stay in our jammies late and made blueberry pancakes.
Apron that Gahaus made for Christmas.
Making soup which we brought to our next door neighbors on each side.
At one point I was attending to the soup and I could hear Josie calling me but I didn't know what she was doing. The fan was on in the kitchen and the music was going so I couldn't really hear her. I finally could stop what I was going and I went to look for her. The front door was open and she was at the top of the stairs. She wanted to go see if Kaira was home from her trip yet.We waited until we were dressed to walk down to her house. They weren't home.

We went downtown to the post office and to our favorite bookstore before going to My Gym. It's not the same without Kaira.

3yrs 1 month

Highlights from the past month.
The day after Josie turned 3 she started writing her name. I was impressed. She still talks about getting her library card but said she's still working on her "s".

Seems like birthday celebrations continued to happen. On Monday Feb 4 Shirley and I went to school right before pick up time to celebrate with the kids. They sang to her and they got ice cream with sprinkles and then she opened a present.

On Sunday the 10th Josie and I went to Lorraine and Gaya's in Saratoga to celebrate birthdays.  Lorraine and I are in Dec. Gaya is in Jan and of course Josie in Feb. They cooked us a delicious lunch and we brought the cupcakes. After lunch we walked to Gaya's school. Next year she'll be in high school!

On Saturday the 16th late afternoon after Karen, Katie, & Luke left we saw our new neighbor kids playing on their driveway so Josie and I went to play with them for a little bit. They all worked on one of Josie's new sticker books together. Anthony just turned 6 and Adrianna turns 4 this month.

Josie had her first sleep over with Gahaus and Grandpa Rich on Sunday Feb 17th. We went to see our favorite bluegrass band The Anderson Family Bluegrass Band. Paige, the oldest daughter, and the next two siblings formed Paige Anderson and the Fearless Kin. That's actually who played on Sunday night at Cafe DuNord in SF. We saw the family play during the Blue Grass Festival 3 years ago when Josie was 17 days old. Unfortunately this year the venue in the Cafe didn't allow anyone under 21. We had to enjoy a night out on our own. We got there early and spent about 45 min. chatting with the Anderson's. They were happy to see us. They ended up putting us on the guest list and we didn't have to pay the $15 ticket fee. While they warmed up we ate our dinner, yummy burgers, and then the band started at 8:30. Daisy Mae the youngest who plays the dobro guitar played for two songs and Christy the mom played the bass for one of the songs. The kids sound great. They also gave us a cd and then we bought a couple. Such a fun evening. Josie had fun on her sleep over.

I picked Josie up at school one day with her face all painted. She loves stuff like this.

Kaira came over on a Friday morning to play.

A couple Fridays we've spent at My Gym and the girls have a ball running and jumping together and just being plain silly. You'll see a video at the end of the crazy girls jumping. They looked so cute picking out from the play structure with their elbows on the mat but I wasn't quick enough to get a good shot.

Last Sunday we took advantage of our great weather and went to Handley's Rock Park in Redwood City. We did some rock scampering. Don't worry Gram and Gahuas we were being safe.

After rock climbing we went to a park at the top of Farm Hill and Josie and Daddy played around.

Enjoying one of our favorite foods - artichokes. These were jumbo artichokes cut in half boiled and grilled and Josie was enjoying the huge heart. Even the stems were delicious.

Here are some videos. One of Josie's bday party at school. One of Josie and Kaira in the marching band. The crazy girls jumping at My Gym.

President's Weekend

Karen, Luke, & Katie arrived late on Thursday night the 14th. Gram, the artist, wrapped up a Valentine gift for Josie with this paper. Inside was an art portfolio for storing all of Josie's art work. From one artist to another. Thanks Gram and Papa.
Friday was a gorgeous day and we spent it at Coyote Point. First at the big playground.

Next at the beach where we had a picnic and the kids played in the sand and water.

Next we walked down by the water out on the levy and collected colored sea glass along the shoreline.

We stopped at My Gym on the way home and caught the last 30 min. of free play. That evening while Eric was making pizza for dinner Luke gave Josie a back rub and then they cuddled on the sofa; Katie was watching a movie on the iPad in Josie's cozy bed; Karen was checking out Facebook and we were playing scrabble on our iPhones; and I was probably munching away on chips and salsa.

The girls had fun getting all fancied up.

On Saturday we went to Fairy Land in Oakland. First we went to pick up Hank and hung around there for a few minutes. Katie played a couple pieces on the piano that she was working on and Hank played some as well. We always love that.

Katie and Josie on the Ferris Wheel.

The Crooked Man house. The first pic shows Katie's head in the upper window and her legs hanging down. Makes her look super long.
Alice in Wonderland was really cute

A miniature Chapel. Preach it girl....

Our friend Pat met us at Fairy Land. 4 of us went on the train ride. We had to wait in line about 15 min.

 Saying goodbye at Hank's house.
