The theme song to Dr. Seuss cartoon in case you didn't know. Our adventure started on Friday morning as we drove to the Hut near Donner Summit. It was a beautiful day. We unpacked and walked down to the creek. Then we went on a longer walk with Josie in the backpack. It cooled off quite a bit at night and it was nice to have a campfire to sit by after our yummy dinner Eric cooked over the coals. We brought a portable heater along which we used in the morning to take the chill off. We had another campfire to eat our breakfast by. After we packed up we drove to the Summit, walked around in old town part of Truckee, then back to the summit and walked through the abandoned trans sierra railroad tunnels. It was quite chilly inside. After a tailgate lunch we drove home Saturday afternoon. We loved our adventure and Josie loved exploring at the Hut.
