Easter Weekend

On Friday I took Kaira and Josie to PCC for a Good Friday experience. This was our first year b/c the last two years we've been in Mexico for Good Friday. There were different stations set-up representing the last week of Jesus. With each experience there were pages to read in the Children's Bible so we could read it and experience it. We started washing each others feet. It was sweet watching them do that for each other. Then they washed my feet.
The next station they could write notes or draw pictures for Jesus and then put them inside an origami bird or heart.
Babies giraffe and foxy got to experience each station with us. Next station communion. I read about Jesus and the last supper and then we took communion and prayed together.

The next station was in the olive garden. It was dark in the room with little sections set up with a blanket and plants and "candles". We acted out the disciples falling asleep while Jesus was praying. Then they wanted to take turns pretending they were Jesus on the cross and then lying in the tomb. We pretended to be Mary and others arriving at the tomb and it was empty.
Decorating eggs at home.

 Decorating the basket

We blew the yolk out of 4 eggs and that was hard work. I cracked the rest that we needed for an egg dish and decided to just soak the half shells. I thought they came out really pretty. Gahaus bought the dye kits which included sparkles, tie dye and stickers.
I had fun decorating the tables when Josie went to bed so she would be surprised on Easter morning. She got a new pair of Crocs and some farm animals. Love the new blue bird and nest from Gram.

Easter breakfast of waffle and strawberries. We had to hustle out to make it for the 8am service.
The beautiful Monkey Tree on the PCC lawn. Josie not in the mood for a picture.

 Easter egg hunt at home.
Easter at Gahuas and Grampa Rich's with John, Jody, & Matt and Uncle Bill & Bonnie. Delicious food and an Easter egg hunt with Matt.
