Grab a cup of coffee and getting ready for a long one!
While Eric was working on the Hut, Josie and I went to our church retreat at Mission Springs just for the day on Saturday May 2nd. We got there in time for breakfast and left around 9:30ish pm. The speaker was really good and Josie had fun in her classes and she loved the freedom of roaming around on foot and bike without mom by her side. She was happy to be reunited with Lucy and met Luisa.

We were on campus for the annual Cardinal Walk for work on a Friday and walked over to the Bookstore. We happened upon a performance by the Stanford Dollies and the Band in front of the bookstore.

We did a quick walk through of some of the galleries in the Cantor Art museum. Josie wanted a picture of this piece b/c she wanted to recreate it at home.

Fun rolling down a hill. Stopping to watch the football team run by during practice.

Watching some divers practicing. One in the foreground jumping onto a mat. One in the background jumping off the board.

Someone on our neighborhood blog posted free tix to the Earthquakes at Levi stadium. They are season ticket holders and couldn't make the game. I was the first one who responded. Eric and I went on Sunday of Memorial weekend and it was a lovely, sunny day. We had seats in the 9th row mid field. The game ended with a tie 1-1.

Kaira came over for about 4 hrs on Memorial Day. They had fun being stylists for each and their dogs for a fashion show. On the way to Kaira's house she had to do some ups on Josie.

On Tuesday I got to spend two hours in preschool with Josie. She really loved having me there. Her friends were asking if they could sit next to me at lunch and rub their backs at nap time. Unfortunately I didn't stay through lunch and nap time.

My friend at work, Soowon, passed along this beautiful dress for Josie and she was so excited and immediately put it on and curtsied. We then played queen and princess all evening and danced in the kitchen to Nutcracker ballet.
That day I was at a conference most of the day and heard a speaker talk about the impact of "3 good things". You write down before bed 3 good things that happened to you or your part in making someone else's day. There's lasting benefits if you do this daily. I tried it with Josie that night. Eric was at the hut and had called and told Josie about a big lizard he saw and some baby lizards. Her 3 good things were: 1) Dad saw a lizard; 2) sleep in mom's bed; 3) Dad saw baby lizards. We've continue to do it every night.
Yeah, Gram and Papa came to visit for a weekend! The same weekend Josie finally got to bring Clover home from school. She's been waiting all year to bring Clover home and she's the 2nd to last kid. She doesn't like Clover now b/c he's dirty and not snugly anymore. We're supposed to take pictures and show the class what Clover did while with us for the week but Josie's not all that interested. We managed a few pictures.
One of Josie's favorite things is a back rub/body rub from Gram and the special song she sings while rubbing on lotion.
In the morning playing a storytelling game.
While Karen, Luke & Katie were traveling to exotic places like Paris we traveled to Hidden Villa in Los Altos.
This was our first time there and we really enjoyed it. The gardens were really pretty with many little secret places for kids to climb through.
Josie practicing her video skills going through a garden tunnel.

Josie fell in love with a kitty cat who was also enjoying her belly scratch from Josie.

We visited the largest pigs we've ever seen and some chickens.
We stopped for a look in the Hidden Villa headquarters and they had a few book shelves of books so we stopped for reading and naps.
Clover came out of the car for one picture.
