On July 2nd we flew 4 hrs to Chicago and 2 hours to West Hartford, CT with Josephine on our laps. She did really well even though she didn't sleep very much. She did finally fall asleep standing on the floor between my legs with her arms over my legs. After I could feel her legs give way I realized she had fallen asleep and put her on my lap and she slept for 45min. We arrived at 11pm and Katie, Oliver, & Miller jumped out of the car to pick us up with lots of hoopla. They thought Josie was so cute as she named off body parts they would point to like eyes, nose, ears, etc. What a great week she had with her cousins. What a great week we all had celebrating my parent's 50th. We spent the first day at Roger, Caroline, Oliver & Miller's very cool, big house, with a very cool, big back yard with beautiful flowers in bloom everywhere and everything so lush. It rained on and off the first day but we had fun kicking back. Sunday, the 4th of July, we drove 4 hrs to Newport, NH, almost to the border of Canada. For lunch we stopped at this tiny podunk "town" or exit right off the highway for some awesome BBQ. They had an old school bus painted blue and I guess that was the kitchen and then a big BBQ outside with picnic tables. Newport had an amazing fireworks show and we were all so surprised by it especially since we were right underneath the display. Pieces of cardboard and sparks were coming down on us. It was super loud. Josie started crying at first and said "loud" and "bye bye". She apparently wanted to leave but since she couldn't she decided to fall asleep. How she managed that I have no idea. The next day we drove another couple hours to the 4th CT Lake and went on a steep hike to find the lake. Later we made our way to Quebec City but that's for another blog entry. Enjoy some pics.
