Santa Barbara Valentine's Weekend

I'm a little late posting this but an event not to be missed. We arrived Thursday night and stayed at Gram and Papa's. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise. They way the light bounced off the walls and the mountains was very pretty.
Karen, Luke and Katie picked us all up and we headed to Lizard's Mouth to hike around on the huge boulders. Hard to believe we've never been there before. Such a great place to climb explore.

Great views
We went down to the pier and saw some seals swimming around.
Cooling off/napping at Gram and Papa's pool.
Getting ready for the Daddy Daughter dance at Ocean Hills Church. Gram gave Josie a beautiful dress for her birthday to look fancy. Luke and Katie go to the dance every year. It was fun for Eric and Josie to go.
Practicing for the dance party
We dropped Eric and Josie off and met Karen, Luke and Katie there. It was in the Loft downtown on State St.
Josie had a great time. She had fun hanging out with Katie and her friends.
Mom, Dad, Karen and I walked to a nice restaurant to celebrate Karen's 50th birthday (March 11) since they'll be in Europe for 4 months. (They left yesterday). We walked back and the dance had just finished so it was perfect timing.
Saturday.....
Happy Valentine's Day!
Saturday we went down to the waterfront and since it was a gorgeous day we rented paddle boards. Katie has done it a few times and has always wanted me to do it when I've visited in the past but some reason I wasn't all that excited to do it. I bit the bullet and got on board (literally and figuratively). It was really fun. Josie rode on Eric's and then switched and rode on mine. It's actually pretty easy when they're aren't any waves. We stayed in a protected area. Katie, Luke, and Eric ventured out into the waves and enjoyed a swim when the waves were too much . Karen and I took the more leisurely route. No pics to document though since we didn't have phones or cameras with us on the water. We went back to the pool at Gram and Papas and hung out there and ate our lunch and then got ready for our Valentine's dinner in the dining room.
Getting beautiful

Post dinner dancing in a quiet lobby

We went to Gram and Papas and Josie opened up some bday presents. She's showing off her cute gymnastics outfit from the CT cousins. You can barely see her new new knee socks covered up by her new leg warmers from Gram and Papa.
 Her new rainbow braid from K, K & L.
Headed home on Sunday afternoon. Eric and I grabbed lunch at La Superica. Long lines as usual but such good authentic food. Josie had the chance to play with Katie at her house. There's never enough time for Josie to play. Such a fun weekend and so thankful for our Santa Barbara family.
