6 yrs 1 month

It's been an interesting month and especially last few days.
Here's a look back at February

 Josie had her annual check-up. She's 39lbs which puts her at 15th % and she's 3 ft 8.25 inches which is 30th % for height. She's been in the same percentile's most of her life. She rec'd a clean bill of health.

Superbowl Sunday we spent the afternoon at Scott, Farah, Zadie and Bergen's. Chris and Caroline were there also with their boys Tyler & Dillon. Scott, a chef, cooked up a great mashed potato bar and plated it up for us. It was delicious. Down in the basement the rock band preformed.

 For the Valentine's party at school Josie wore her new dress Gahuas made. Speaking of Valentine's Day Josie came home with a secret this month telling me she was in love with Cooper, a boy in her class. When Kaira was over one day they were in her room and I heard her tell Kaira and they giggled. Then they decided to plan the wedding. In bed one night Josie asked "how do you know if you're in love?" She wanted me to tell her how daddy and I met. She prayed one night that she would be able to marry Cooper unless he married Maya first. For many days she talked about him how she was in love. By the end of the month she wasn't really talking much about it. She definitely got hit by cupid's arrow.

 Saturday Josie spent the night with Gahaus and Grandpa Rich while we went to a colleague's wedding in Forest Hill near Auburn. Amanda looked beautiful and we had fun with a bunch of work colleagues. The setting was spectacular and for a Feb 13 wedding she sure lucked out with the weather. We checked out the cute town of Auburn on Sunday before heading home.

We got home and picked up Josie and took her out to practice on her new (used) bike. It's still a little big and she could still practice on her littler bike.

Gram sent the comics since Josie had fun reading them in SB. 

Our little Daisy Girl Scout sold cookies. She carried Sniffles in her box as we went to neighbors to sell. 

Stephen and Janet bought a couple boxes. We hadn't seen Quinn in awhile and he sure got bigger. Still loves being playful with Josie.

 One Saturday we visited the Anderson Collection on Stanford campus next door to the Cantor Art Museum. Josie checked out an art box and away she went. We ran out of time since she sketched her first piece for about 45 min. We took pics of other pieces she wanted to sketch.

After a couple hours between inside and outside we grabbed a bit to eat at the Cool Cafe and brought it with us to the women's gymnastic meet. Stanford lost to Utah but it was still fun. For about 20 min President Hennessy sat down next to us. I finally got up the nerve to say hello and introduce myself and thank him for his leadership and congratulate him on his upcoming retirement. A couple minute later he left.

Josie and I hiked around at Handley's Rock in Redwood City. We brought a picnic lunch and read for while and watched a kid climb the rock. Josie picked me some sour grass.

Last Friday night Izzy came over her a dinner play date. The played in a cardboard club house outside with Sniffles as their mascot.

Saturday, Jose and I went on a Daisy adventure in San Jose. They learned how to make a fire using candy as the components. And they each got a turn striking a match.

The next rotation was hiking and what you need in your back pack. We took a little walk and stopped to hear the sounds. You had to partner with a buddy so Josie and Alexandra were partners or the walk and for the next rotation, knives and knots. They learned how to tie a couple basic knots and to open a pocket knife. Since we were the only ones from our troop Alexandra's troop adopted us. We ate our picnic lunch with them and they even had an extra fun patch they gave to Josie. Very fun morning.

We zipped home to the cookie booth. Josie sold cookies in front of Peet's Coffee on Laurel for an hour. The kids had made a poster advertising how they'll spend their cookie money - helping dogs. Zadie and her dad came to buy some cookies.

When we got home we had to share the sad news with Josie about Sniffles getting hit by a car earlier that morning. Good bye sweet kitty.

Sunday Josie's choir Joyful Noise sang in church at Trinity. After we went out for breakfast with Gahuas and Rich.

Sunday afternoon we went to visit Juliet and Josie read Dick and Jane and I prayed over her. She wasn't responsive but hearing is the last to go so we think she could hear us. After reading Josie hung out with older sister Helena who's 8 yrs old.

On Monday a cement truck crashed through the house at the bottom of our street. The driver jumped out in time and his truck drove completely in the house and took out the power grid. It happened around 1pm and our street was closed to cars and foot traffic. After work Eric hike in the back way over the top of the hill. I took Josie to work out at PCC and showered there and picked up some food at Whole Foods. We then parked at Grampa's and walked home around 8pm. Eric met us at the bottom of the hill. There were a number of people standing around watching the workers. We had to wait for them to finish cutting off some branches from the tree and then a bunch of us walked up the hill. It was so warm out and so dark with no house lights or street lights. The power came on around 7am the next day. We ate sushi by candle light.

Walking to school the next morning we finally got to see the damage. Luckily the homeowners were in Hawaii. Bad luck having a vehicle drive through your house twice. First time was a few years ago when an SUV lost its breaks.

Tuesday we heard the sad news that Juliet passed away early in the morning. In the afternoon Josie and I went over there. Another friend of Shauna's was there with her son Jackson who is really good friends with Helena. After awhile we walked over to the Belmont Library. Josie had so much fun playing with Helena. Shauna went back to the house b/c other friends were arriving and Abby and I hung out at the library park with the kids. So sad but good to be with them. Praying God will meet them in their pain and mend their broken hearts.

Glad to have this month over and ready for a great month of March.
