Santa Barbara

On the 29th Gram, Papa, Josie and I drove down to SB. It was a cloudy, off and on rainy day. We did see a fantastic double rainbow along the way. Josie did a great job in the 5 1/2 hour car ride. She's a champ when it comes to long rides. She did enjoy her new Leapfrog iPad.

We arrived late afternoon and went to Karen, Luke, & Katie's for dinner. Luke's sister Susan and husband Steve and Berto were visiting for a few days to celebrate Christmas. The kids all opened a few presents after dinner. The next day Josie hung out with the cousins and my mom and I walked around State Street and went in some shops. Nice to do that without Josie in tow.

Katie and Josie then came to Gram and Papa's to play. Here's Josie all snuggled in with my old quilt from childhood.

The next day after lunch we all went to Franchesca Park across from the beach. It was a little chilly when the sun went behind the clouds. When we walked out on the pier it was nice and sunny. Beautiful day.

Snuggle time with Aunt Karen and Katie.

Josie loves the merry-go-round.

For my birthday dinner on the 30th Karen and I went with my parents to a nice restaurant on State Street called Cadiz. We ordered about 6 tapas and one dinner and shared it all. It was delicious. Pictured below is chicken (but just ordinary chicken) with a great sauce and chick pea fries. Luke and Katie along with Susan, Steve, & Berto all stayed home and took care of Josie.
