Pre Christmas Activities

Josie loves the nativity scene at PCC and always wants to hug each of the characters and ride on the animals. Baby Jesus isn't put out until Christmas Eve.
In Redwood City the Tapestry Church puts on Bethlehem AD for a few days every year. We waited in a long line and were entertained along the way by soldiers, king Herod and dancing harem, guards & prisoners. At one point the guards pulled us out of line and shaved about 30 min off our wait and escorted us with other "prisoners" to the front of the line. The area was turned into Bethlehem and it was fun to walk through and pay taxes to Cesar, walk through the market place to see baking, tool making, fruit/veggies, etc. There were live animals and then at the end Mary & Joseph with baby Jesus in the stable with the angels singing. It's powerful watching the couple with a real baby lying in the manager.

Josie and I invited Gahaus to see the Nutcracker with us at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City. First she treated us to lunch at La Tartine. There were probably 20 kids and grown-ups from PCC in the production. Elise danced in quite a few scenes and Josie really wanted to see her at the end. Elise helps in Josie's Sunday School class. I was impressed with the talent.

Our annual visit to Santa in San Carlos. It's always the same guy and he really looks like Santa.
Kaira came over to decorate a gingerbread house.
