Sunday June 19 we celebrated Josie's great dad. Things that come to mind about Eric: loving, persistent, creative, dreamer, strong, methodical, supportive, napper, nature-lover, camper, feeler, determined, tinkerer...........
After church and leading kinder Sunday School we picked up trip tip sandwiches for lunch. Eric then prepared the bikes and load them up. We drove up to Canada rode where we thought the road would be closed to traffic. We thought it was closed until 4 but it opened to cars at 3. Fortunately the bike lane is pretty wide and not too many cars were around. This was our first family bike ride. First time either of us were on bike with Josie. She was ready but she was nervous and intimidated by the cars. It was only 1 1/2 miles out to Pulgas Water Temple so we didn't go far but it was significant. She did great. The middle pic is me and my shadow to document I was there.
The night before we watched Princess Bride so here Eric and Josie are acting out a scene.
San Francisco built Pulgas Water Temple as a monument to the engineering
marvel that brought Hetch Hetchy water more than 160 miles across
California from the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the Bay Area. The Hetch
Hetchy Project took 24 years to build through the Great Depression at a
cost of $102 million.
